Who is Janet Hebbe?

Everyone has a “why.” This is mine.

Why am I so passionate about being a positive influence on your agency's people issues? 

 

Because I believe in the importance of public service. You may not think of human resources as public service, but in the government sector, it absolutely is! 

 

This is my contribution. 

 

Local and state governments provide numerous services and amenities we rely on every day, such as safe roads, clean drinking water, utilities, police and fire services, and recreational facilities. 

 

These things wouldn’t exist without effective teams comprised of dedicated employees. 

 

As an HR professional, you’re building and maintaining the team that helps make your community a great place to live. 

 

Your position comes with great responsibility — and people issues. But those issues don’t have to take up all of your time anymore.

My approach to addressing your HR needs…

is personal, creative, and strategic. I ask questions, listen to what’s causing you concern, and provide prudent and compliant solutions to your HR needs. 

 

I book a limited number of clients so your project will receive the focused attention it deserves.   

My 15+ years of HR experience…

has provided me with comprehensive knowledge of government human resources from recruiting to termination and everything in between.

 

I have experience in compliance, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, employee relations training, promotions, the application of union contracts, employee complaints, administrative investigations, and progressive discipline.

 

But I’m not looking at these areas only through the lens of an HR professional. I’ve also served as an operations director, overseeing an agency of 125 employees. 

 

This experience provided an invaluable understanding of walking in your shoes —  seeing HR from an outside perspective.

 

I understand what it means to be a strategic HR partner for you and work with an urgency to resolve people issues so you can focus on your other duties. 

My education and certifications include…

a Master of Arts in Management, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Writing & Editing, and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
